New Maipo Boutique Family Wineries
Feel the warm closeness of the owner families and get to know their small wineries, born from the love and passion for producing, enjoying and sharing their wine.
A wine cared for and pampered from start to finish in a very heterogeneous terroir with both stony alluvial areas and clay soils rich in silt. Its proximity to the sea, only 30 kilometers from the coast, allows us to produce high quality Chardonnay and Sauvignon blanc and excellent red wines such as the icon of the Chocalán Winery, Alexia, which has received very high scores in the main national and international wine guides.
Fresh And Light Wines With Saline And Mineral Influence
Sea breezes, granitic and clay soils and longer ripening periods give the wines vibrant acidity and fresh aromas.
You will be surprised by the wide variety of wines you will taste. Garnacha, Tempranillo, Monastrell or Ajerezado wine, Spanish grape varieties in which La Viña del Señor has specialized. Or the wines made in Viñateros de Raíz, a garden vineyard where everything is so natural that the vines are cultivated without tillage and have no guides. The winemaker’s own family with his wife and children are the ones who manually carry out the entire production and winemaking process.
At Viña Las Araucarias, partially located in one of the very few areas of relict primary forest in the Central Cordillera, you can breathe nature. Another family project very focused on the care and protection of the environment. A certified organic vineyard in an enclave that is being reforested with native species and where the area’s wetlands are being recovered.
Maipo Coast Wineries: New, Original And Authentic
All the vineyards visited have in common that they are new, original and authentic and that their owners belong to families closely linked to the world of wine, some of them since ancient times.
Lunch At La Viluma Restaurant
At the Huerta La Viluma restaurant, each dish is designed to pair harmoniously with the wines of Viña Las Araucarias.
It enjoys a rounded pairing that combines organic wines, rural cuisine of wood-fired meats with fresh vegetables from the natural garden just harvested.
All this in a privileged natural environment surrounded by native trees, gardens, ancestral crafts, paddocks and a spectacular view of the vineyards.
