Don Melchor Masterful wine tasting
It includes a vertical tasting of three of the seven plots into which the terroir of the mythical vineyard is divided in its original enclave of Puente Alto.
That mystical place where the legend continues from the hand of the ancient Cabernet Sauvignon vines over 30 years of age. These are daughters, granddaughters and great-granddaughters of those brought by Don Melchor from Bordeaux at the beginning of the 19th century. Pure pre-phylloxera ungrafted vines carefully selected generation after generation using the ancient technique of massal selection. In addition to Cabernet Sauvignon, there is also a small percentage of Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Petit Verdot grapes that enrich the personality of each vintage.
For this wine tasting, three wines from three of the plots are uncorked so that you have the opportunity to appreciate the aromas, flavors and notes of each of them and the grapes from their vines. All with different characteristics that express the diversity of the vineyard and add complexity to each bottle.
After tasting the wines, you will participate in – the art of blending – with one of the sommeliers of the winery. Indeed, from these three wines will be born, now and in situ, a new premium wine, unique and exclusive for this tasting. We reproduce just for you the alchemical magic that Enrique Tirado, the winemaker responsible for the creation of Don Melchor, performs with each vintage.
